Praise the Lord! There was a 3 day Youth Camp meeting in May in the village of Chokchok north of the Turkwel river. Nearly 250 were in attendance. Church leaders challenged the youth to follow Jesus and 59 youth were baptized into Christ.

The best part is that I can’t tell you much more then that… this all happened without the assistance of any missionaries. The church leaders planned the meeting, organized for the food, collected funds from the participants to pay for the food, brought all the teaching, and baptized those who made decisions COMPLETELY ON THEIR OWN.

Pray for the church leaders to take more initiative like this in the future. Pray for the 59 youth who were baptized. Pray for more events like this to occur all over Turkana.
